IFBSO names new President

The International Federation of Boat Show Organizers (IFBSO) has a new president and the first woman to fill the role, having named Jennifer Thompson, senior vice president of NMMA Shows, to the two-year term.

“I am honoured to be a part of this impressive group of professionals representing the leading boat shows in the world,” Thompson was quoted in a statement by the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association (NMMA). “Over the next two years we plan to focus on how we can further collaborate, particularly on the topic of sustainability and our commitment made last year to reduce and eliminate single-use plastics in our shows as part of the ‘Rethink Plastic’ campaign.”

IFSBO provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and development of cooperation between members that also encourages all members to commit to environmental sustainability around all aspects of member’s shows.

Thompson replaces Goetz-Ulf Jungmichael after he served his third two-year term.
