In light of the further spread of the coronavirus and the even greater spread of media coverage, not all of it factual, UFI have today launched their “This Show is Open!” Campaign. This is in response to the global wave of show postponements and cancellations (more than 400 shows around the world so far) driven by public health measures that authorities are taking or advising to overcome the current outbreak of the virus. The implication is that the events industry, our market places and meeting places, are dangerous.
UFI has launched a campaign to counter this narrative, and to highlight the importance of our market places and meeting places around the world. They want to promote the events worldwide that are open and running successfully and discuss how to keep them going and how to strike the right balance between keeping people safe from a health threat today AND keeping people safe in the mid-to-long-term by stabilising and supporting trade and economies.
