Who are we?
This policy covers how we (International Federation of Boat Show Organisers - IFBSO) collect, use, disclose, transfer and store your data.
IFBSO was founded in 1964 to help the development of boat shows and marine trade exhibitions worldwide. Today IFBSO represents and works with and on behalf of many of the world’s leading boat shows whilst, at the same time, helping to establish new member shows via its candidate member mentoring scheme.
Our website www.ifbso.com provides information to the general public and provides IFBSO members with the opportunity to upload information about their events and/or to download members only information via individual and private log-ins.
How we collect information from you
We collect information about you when you use our website ‘contact us’ form to enquire about members or services, or when you meet with or contact an IFBSO member or the secretariat.
What type of information is collected?
The Personal Information we collect might include your name, address and email address, as well as that of your company, show details or anything else that may be appropriate to provide you with the most appropriate advice or service you require.

To protect our members' Personal Information, we follow strict storage and disclosure procedures, which mean that we will require proof of identity from you prior to disclosing such information. Sharing your Personal Information
We may pass your information to our members or third party service providers, and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services only if you have expressly asked us to do so.
When we use third party service providers, we disclose only the Personal Information that is necessary to deliver the service requested and we seek their assurance that they keep your information secure and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes.
We may transfer your Personal Information to a third party as part of a sale of some, or all, of our business and assets or as part of any business restructuring or reorganisation, or if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation. Keeping your information safe
At IFBSO, we take our responsibility to look after your Personal Information and privacy seriously. In today’s world, we have all seen a growing trend in cybercrime and security breaches. We have a number of security measures in place to help prevent fraud and cybercrime.
If we become aware that a personal data breach has occurred and is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of our members, partners or employees, we will inform them without undue delay.
We educate and train our members, partners and employees on their information security, fraud prevention and privacy obligations annually and they must agree to adhere to the Data Protection Act and our own Information Security Policy that are designed to keep your information safe.
When you log-in, or send us information on the internet we protect the security of this information while it is being transmitted by encrypting it using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
Transferring your information outside the UK or the European Union
We operate internationally and as part of the services offered to you by IFBSO, the information which you provide to us may be transferred to countries outside the European Union (“EU”).
This may happen if any of our servers are located in a country outside of the EU. If we transfer your information outside of the EU in this way, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected as outlined in this Policy.
If you use our services while you are outside the EU, your information may be transferred outside the EU in order to provide you with those services.
In addition, we use Google's remarketing technology to advertise online. In doing so, Google will place or read a unique ad-serving cookie on your computer and will use non-personal information about your browser and your activity on our sites to serve ads on their content network. We will only collect Personal Information about you if you send us an e-mail enquiry via the 'contact us' facility or contact us directly by phone or email. In order for this to happen, you will need to fill out the on line 'contact us' form or complete the registration details. The type of information being collected for an enquiry will be apparent from the layout of the 'contact us' form, which also tells you how this information will be used.
We take all reasonable precautions to protect our visitors' information, both on and off line. If your Personal Information changes, please let us know and we will correct, update or remove any information that we hold about you on our active databases. We may however need to retain archive copies of that personal information for legal or audit purposes.
