Encouraging signs from mid-year shows

As the southern hemisphere ends its run of winter shows, boatbuilders in the northern hemisphere start to load up their trailers for the autumn season. On both sides of the world the early signs are encouraging for IFBSO member shows: Sydney enjoyed a second year of visitor growth after five years of declining gates, while Amsterdam exhibitors reported many more keen purchasers at the enthusiasts' in-water boat show. And among the trade events, when IBEX opens at at the end of September, there'll be a new buzz: the show has a new, more central home in Louisville, Kentucky, and with four weeks to go had already attracted 11% more exhibitors and significantly more pre-registered visitors than last year.
