The IFBSO Code of Excellence

At its 2007 Congress in Auckland, New Zealand, the Federation adopted the IFBSO Code of Excellence which stipulates transparency of entry rules, allocation of space, appeals system and waiting list rules.

Using the Code of Excellence as a basis, the criteria that follow have in the past been used as entry requirements for membership and all existing IFBSO members are fully compliant with the provisions of this Code.

As of January 2022, IFBSO is simplifying its membership categories. Boat Show Members need to comply with the Full Code of Excellence. Candidate Boat Show Members need to comply with the Basic Minimum Standard, selected criteria taken from the existing IFBSO Code of Excellence. They will be mentored for a period of three years/three show editions before being considered for admission as Boat Show Members.
